1. Operating System: Windows XP/ Vista
2. Processor: Intel Pentium D 2.6GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
3. Memory: 1GB RAM (2GB for Vista)
4. Free Disk Space: 8GB
5. Video Card: Shader Model 3.0 and 256MB RAM (ATI Radeon X1600/nVidia GeForce 6800)
6. Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
Recommended System Requirements:
1. Operating System: Windows XP/ Vista
2. Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
3. Memory: 2GB RAM (3GB for Vista)
4. Free Disk Space: 8GB
5. Video Card: Shader Model 3.0 and 512MB RAM (ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT/nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX)
6. Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Current possible solution or those who receive any errors while playing the game

1. For those who receive Configuration error check number 1.
2. For those who receive sound problem check number 2.

1. It’s a registry problem.
If you receive this type of error below :

Failed to start the game, cannot find essential information in the registry.

Configuration error: 0×0002
Configuration error: 0×0003

Here is how to fix it :

Open the game folder and double clicke “AssassinsCreed_Game” and it will work. I then create a short cut.

or

1) Right click the link to Assassin’s Creed, select properties. 2) Don’t change any of the link EXCEPT the file name. Change it from AssassinsCreedlauncher.exe to AssassinsCreedgame.exe

3) Apply and enjoy.
Simply linking to the game instead of the launcher (which finds updates) seems to fix the registry problem.

2. Update you sound card driver
To update them or check for updates go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Sounds, Video and Game Controllers > Right Click On Correct One Then Update Driver.

If you use sound hardware acceleration change it to basic
